We present a site-specific version of Alberto Conejero’s play *Leonora*, in a unique adaptation for Can Prunera.
Accompanied by Lucía Pérez Dezcallar on the cello, the actress Natalia Huarte will evoke the rebellious spirit of Leonora Carrington in this staged poem, which has garnered acclaim from audiences and critics alike since its premiere.
*Leonora* is a free interpretation of the world of the celebrated Surrealist painter, sculptor and writer. The play takes the audience on a journey through the most significant chapters of Carrington’s youth: the discovery of her artistic vocation, her encounter with Max Ernst, her flight from France due to the Nazi occupation, her experiences in post-war Spain, and her eventual escape from Europe. But, above all, Leonora is a love letter to Carrington’s resilience, defiance and desire for freedom in dark times.
The composer and pianist Magí Garcías has composed the music for this adaptation, which invites the audience to explore the building as if they were walking through a painting or a dream.
Following the performance, there will be a discussion with the creative team, accompanied by a glass of wine or another drink courtesy of the organisers.
