Presentation of Susan Robinson’s book

Susan Robinson is a self-taught artist who moved to Deià in the mid-1960’s. Although she had already been writing poetry and painting prior to her move, her creative pursuits became a far more integral part of her life after settling in the village. Surrounded by Deià’s inspiring landscape and artistic community––particularly vibrant in the 1980’s––se deepened her commitment to both visual art and poetry.

Driven by a personal search and creative compulsion, she has continued to explore and develop her work ever since. A few years ago, she brought these two forms of expression together by creating a small book that combines her poetry and paintings, offering an intimate glimpse into her artistic version. She was also Robert Graves nurse and friend during the last years of the poet in Deià, the Arcadia that he discovered and where he settled down to live for the rest of his life.

The book launch will take place in the sculpture garden at Can Prunera. We will be exhibiting six of the original paintings featured in the book, all of which will be on sale.
