The modernist house of Sóller evolves to a center of art, creativity and thought where architecture, contemporary art and a wide cultural program coexists with activitites for families, children and adults.
The new management, Miquel Rullán and José Vicens, both from Sóller, have taken the torch from the founders Pere Serra, Javier Mayol and Vicenç Sastre, with the objectives of making the history of Can Prunera known, keeping it linked to Sóller and turning this modernist house into a cultural center of reference in the Mediterranean environment.
Visitors can continue to enjoy the modernist architecture and the crafts that made such a magnificent building possible (such as carpentry, glassmaking, pottery, forging, sculpture and painting). Also of the art collection of great masters of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries as Miró, Henri Toulouse-Lautrec, Miquel Barceló and Pablo Picasso, without forgetting the extraordinary outdoor space that is the sculpture garden of the house.

Can Prunera will have in this new stage a powerful educational proposal and an exceptional cultural program that includes a cycle of classical and contemporary music, creativity workshops with local artists, cultural and ethnographic routes, conferences and courses of thought, philosophy and art. In addition, the store has been entirely designed with the intention of working with local artisans and artists, and will have its own collections of ceramics, jewelry and small library.
This Saturday, March 8th, we inaugurated “The islands of curiosity”, an artistic intervention dedicated to play and creativity designed by Irene Fernandez (architect and musicologist) aimed primarily at families and schools. Irene Fernandez has created a playful, immersive and sensory learning space unique in Mallorca, with an extension of 450 square meters.
