Clara i Pere Fiol

Clara and Pere Fiol are father and daughter, and also a vocal and guitar duo. Their musical quality is complemented by an absolute complicity, cultivated over years at family gatherings and after-dinner gatherings, which has rarely been seen on stage.

They offer a repertoire of popular Catalan songs that, like many other homes in Mallorca, have been heard all their lives. Lluís Llach, María del Mar Bonet, Serrat, and Raimon are reconfigured in the hands of this duo, transporting us back to that time, but interspersed with the present and new perspectives.

The repertoire of the new song is a meeting place for Clara and Pere, two musicians who share backgrounds, but not disciplines. She studied jazz singing at the Taller de Músics in Barcelona and has become interested in traditional music, which she revisits with the Marala vocal trio. He began his classical guitar studies at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid and is also a lover of romantic music, which he brings to the stage with double bassist Xisco Aguiló.

For some songs, the youngest member of the family will join him as a special guest: Joan Fiol, a recent graduate of the Conservatorio Superior de Música de las Islas Baleares, an exceptional cellist specializing in early music.

For an hour, he will revisit the songs you already know, but you’ll feel how they expand in the improvisational flexibility of Clara’s voice. And you’ll hear four hands on two guitars: Pedro’s, expert and harmonious, and those of his apprentice, who has studied them attentively for many years. A quality performance that offers a window into the intimacy of a father and daughter.
