PROGRAMME FOR EDUCATIONAL CENTERS 2025
ART NOUVEAU WALKS
Preschool, Primary, Secondary and Baccalaureate.
Modernist art found a home in Sóller, where it could take root and take shape. Can Prunera is the clearest example, but what other buildings follow in the Modernist vein in this beautiful village hidden among the mountains? Thanks to the Modernist tour of Can Prunera, we’ll explore the traces of a unique artistic and architectural style from its main building, where the tour begins, and then explore the streets in search of Modernism. In Sóller, it appears mixed with touches of Historicism, Art Nouveau, Neoclassical, and Arts and Crafts. With this visit, we can feel part of an artistic and cultural movement that colored Europe at the beginning of the 20th century and whose echoes still resonate in Can Prunera and Sóller thanks to the work of Joan Rubió i Bellver, a disciple of Gaudí, and Antoni Castanyer. Pay attention because nothing is what it seems to the attentive eye of the architect, the artist, or the painter.
