VII Female Artistic Installation Contest 2020
The Bases of the VII Female Artistic Installation Contest 2020 comprise the participation bases for the selection of an artist.
1- Any female artist over 18 years of age, resident in the Spanish State regardless of their place of origin, may participate in this event. We make positive discrimination to value and give visibility to the work of women artists, beyond their artistic discourse.
2- Each participant may only submit one project, which must be the author and owner, presenting a specific project that has to respond to the characteristics of the place with an innovative proposal.
3- The artistic installation project should adapt to the space proposed by the museum: central spiral staircase (see images). Measures of the vacuum of the stairs: 10 m. high x 2.5 m. diameter. The museum has certain fasteners to fix the work. It is a stainless steel hexagon, where the short side measures 109 cm and between the farthest vertices measures 125 cm in diameter. The restraint systems must be technically justified and within the budget.
4- The technique and theme of the contest is free, although, the work will have to adhere to the previously proposed space. It is advisable to take into account the philosophy of the museum to carry out the work, artistic projects cannot go against it.
5- You can visit the exhibition space before the presentation of the project to be able to adapt it as much as possible, or consult the necessary doubts to the contact indicated below.
6- The project must include:
• Name, address, email and telephone.
• Photocopy of the ID or passport of the author.
• Curriculum.
• Address of the blog, web, or any other link of the artist in case you have.
• Specification of the title, technique, approximate format/measures, technical needs and material and assembly budget (maximum € 2,000), sketch, sketch/assembly design. The budget must include the production of up to € 2,000 (includes: assembly, disassembly, transfers, accommodation, materials, fastening systems, transport of the work and insurance). These amounts must include the corresponding taxes and withholdings.
• Conceptual description of the project 10 line maximum.
7- The deadline to submit the projects is December 31, 2019, by to museu@canprunera.net, or in Can Prunera Museu Modernista, Carrer Lluna, 86 – 90, 07100 (Sóller), from Tuesday to Sunday , from 10.30 am to 6.00 pm, or by regular mail or transport agency (the date of the postmark may not be after December 31). The public inauguration of the work will be March 7. For the submission of projects via email, participation will only be valid once a confirmation email sent by the Organization has been received. If the participant did not receive a reply mail, she would have to contact the Organization at +34 971 638 973, before 2 p.m. on December 31, 2019.
8- In case they are sent by transport agency, it will be done under the responsibility of their authors, paid freight. The Fundació Tren de l’Art is not responsible for the deterioration of works due to improper packaging.
9- In addition to the project, you will also have to present a graphic dossier with a maximum of 10 recent works, sketches or personal works done by the author (10 pages maximum). New technology projects may be accompanied by an external URL or link.
10- The Women’s Artistic Installation Contest, includes a prize endowed with € 1,000, (regardless of the € 2,000 allocated to the execution of the project) as the artist’s fees (80% when accepting the prize and 20% when done public) and in the execution of the work in the museum, in addition to the press release of the author and all her artistic background.
11- The jury of the contest will communicate the result to the winner personally, and then the winning project will be made public. The execution of the intervention will be carried out in accordance with the sketch presented and validated by the Organization.
12- Both the project and the winning work will remain artist’s property, although the Fundació Tren de l’Art will be able to reproduce it in catalogs, websites, social networks, etc. Always stating the authorship of the work.
13- The jury will be made up with people related to contemporary art and who will be appointed by the Fundació Tren de l’Art. The Jury will complete with its criteria the doubts that may arise from the interpretation of these bases, and its decision will be final.
14- The prize may be deserted if the jury considers that the projects presented are not of sufficient quality.

16- Participation in this contest leads to the total acceptance of these rules, as well as the decisions that the organization can take towards the best development of this. (Without influencing the content or form of the work against the will of the artist).
